Love is in the air and we at Robot Bodypop are getting set for some big changes. For one, Killian will soon be welcoming a smaller but even more badman version of himself to the world – so congratulations are in order. We fully expect the next show to be punctuated by infantile screaming and soiled nappies. No change there then.

Big fans of young Jamaican producer Londy. An incredible work rate and consistently throwing up quality tracks at at varying BPMs, he’s featured heavily on the Robot Bodypop. The latest EP, Distant Love.can be bagged via his Soundcloud page and all 4 cuts are lush. From the beautiful half step ‘Night’ with Ted Ganung to the rolling ‘Treat Her Good’ its a solid 4 track EP. Love these vibes. Fresh and uplifting. Don’t stall. And as the man himself says:

Mako’s Utopia Music label returns with the mighty Mute alongside the man himself with 2 storming drum and bass cuts. Both featured on this weeks Robot Bodypop show.

First up is the atmospheric and moody ‘Cali Sleaze’. A future soundscape that we’ve come to love at the RBP.

On the flip its the techy and industrial roller ‘Always’. Heavy subs alongside vocal stabs coupled with a deep groove. Love it.

Utopia Music

Here come two dutty dancehall riddims from Munich producers Schlachthofbronx. They’ve got an album due out on Disko B records in the near future called ‘Dirty Dancing’. ‘Slowine’ is featured on this weeks show and you can buy the single here. Big daddy riddims worthy of a purchase.

One of my standout releases for this month – Not for want of trying to secure promotional copies I have been waiting on this one for much of last year, in particular due to the inclusion of these two tunes.

I’ve hardly listened to the rest of it yet to be perfectly honest. Those two have been on constant rotation since I finally copped them on the 10th. That’s reason enough for me to urge you to buy it!

Regular listeners will know of our love for the old school, and hip hop was our musical bread and butter growing up. This updated version of Das Efx‘s classic definitely gets our vote. Vibes in abundance!

And now for some hype old skool vibes from Edinburgh resident Hostage. This guys output is just incredible. His soundcloud page is brimming with goodness and plenty more free tunes all of the highest quality. His new Listen EP came out at the end of last month and it is a banger! Make sure you check it.

If you are looking for a badman producer, Canadian Jacques Greene certainly resembles the e-fit.

Greene’s creations are always up front and ear catching – he has a knack of plucking teasingly familiar snippets out of old R&B or House tunes and recombining them into something fresh and unusual.

The highlight for me is the collaboration with Scottish minimal dubstep producer Koreless - If I was asked to come up with the most unlikely musical collaboration between two contemporary bass music producers of all time – I still wouldn’t have considered putting these two together - their styles are that diverse. Such a great feeling to hear their distinct individual soundscapes working perfectly together on the one track. Believe me, you need to bag this.

Any fan of the Robot Bodypop show quickly realises this is a mouth-watering line-up for us. Alongside Kryptic Minds, Just Skank bring the mighty DJ Madd, Dub Phizix, Killawatt and the rising Compa. A serious line up staged at the Moho Live venue. Theres a second room featuring upcoming talent and the hosts for the night come in the form of Broke ‘n’ English wordsmith Strategy, GNI MC and Sin Seer. I hear Compa is going to be there selling whites of ‘Dem A Talk’ so be sure to get in early and corner him. Really looking forward to this one and it promises to be as diverse as it does upfront.
